The Amazing Story of Riley B. King

If you look at B.B King today and are aware of his more than 250 concerts around the world each year, you would hardly thought of him as someone that could be playing the guitar on the street corners for dimes! Don’t you?. Sure you could learn by yourself to some extent, but you need really good theory to become a pro like him.
Humble Beginnings
He was born in 1,925 in Mississippi and when he was young, he played on street corners for dimes, but in 1,947 he went to Memphis and in 1,948 had his success when performed in the Sonny Boy Williamson’s radio program.
One of his anecdotes
In mid 1950, a fight began between two men during one of King’s performances and they set fire to the venue with kerosene. After King was outdoors to safe his life, he realized that he forgot his guitar, later named “Lucille” to remind him never fight for a woman and ever since, each one of King’s guitars has been called “Lucille”.
